Pond's Flawless White BB Cream

Hey guys! How have you all been doing? Yet another fail for me on my promise to keep up with my blog. I've been terribly busy juggling life, work, and this new blessing I am cooking. I'll announce it here first, VERY SOON. I'm pretty excited about this and I can't wait to share with you all. Follow me on my networks for the latest update. HINT: I'll be choosing at least 5 people to try it for FREE!

Anyway, let's get this review started. I've had this bb cream for over 5 months I believe, and I have used it a couple of times. I wasn't sure if I was going to like it, and a few of my friends asked me what I thought about this, so I decided to get one in a small tube to try. I paid P99 for one tube and bought it from Watsons.

Pond's Flawless White BB Cream comes in 2 shades, light and beige. I am somewhere, in between so I got the light shade. It comes in a plastic tube like most bb creams and has 8g of product. It has a pink undertone, which I'm not a huge fan of, but this one looks better on me than beige. It has that signature Pond's scent, which I am used to because I use Pond's Age Miracle, but may put others off. It's easy to blend on the skin and a little goes a long way. If you want more coverage, you have to allow it to completely set before adding another layer, otherwise, it will cake. This doesn't break me out at all.

Here are some swatches. Not a very good match for my skin because of the pink. I would have liked it more if it had yellow undertones.

Below are before and after photos. The first photo is my bare face, on the right is with Pond's Flawless White BB Cream in Light, bottom left is what it looks like after setting the bb cream with Ben Nye Banana Powder, then lastly with full makeup. I don't like base makeup with pink undertones because it washes me out and makes me look sick. The Ben Nye Banana Powder did the trick here and made a whole lot of difference in this look because it balanced the tone on my face, then with a touch of bronzer of course, for that sun kissed healthy look.

So what do I think about Pond's Flawless White BB Cream? I use it in cooler days like today (it's been cool around here because of the non-stop rain due to the storm) because it can really hold up. On humid days though, not very much. It doesn't melt, but the oil control is quite bad, especially if you have oily skin like me. This works really well with mineral foundation/powder because it creates a dewy finish making you appear fresh and glowing. Staying power for cooler days is 4hrs, but when it's hot, you have about an hour until your facial oil starts to seep through your makeup. I like wearing this with my Maybelline Mineral Foundation in humid days (mineral foundation works best if you have a good base to hold it together). Coverage is light, so if you have imperfections and dark circles you may need to use a concealer to cover it up (I didn't use a concealer anymore in this photo). The price is okay considering that one tube can last you at least 1.5 weeks. It can emphasize dry patches, so make sure to moisturize your skin before you apply it.

Overall, the Pond's Flawless White BB Cream is okay and worked as expected. I will not repurchase anytime soon because I like other brands more, but this is good enough for young girls who are new to bb creams because it is inexpensive, easy to find, and covers just right if you don't have many blemishes.

Have you tried Pond's Flawless White BB Cream yet? How do you like it?

MY UPDATED SKIN CARE ROUTINE

It's been almost 7 months since my last post, and I feel terrible that I just didn't have the time to put up a new post here. I have been extremely busy with a lot of stuff that I could not squeeze it in. I moved to a new house (yay), and got a new job, so everything is new, and I am making lots of adjustments to the new place, neighborhood, and work. So if I'm not working, I'm running errands, organizing the house, or sleeping.

Since I moved to my new place, I have been unhappy with my skin because of the water and the weather (it's hotter and more humid here), and I have been quite stressed trying to fit in everything that I need to do in just 24hrs. My sleeping schedule has changed; I have only been sleeping for 5 hours a day, and it made my skin look dull and dry, and I broke out a lot. I had so many pimple marks and white heads on my face. Bottom line, it's terrible. It may sound shallow, but having a clear and healthy skin is important to me, and I'm sure to many as well. I thought the combination of the skincare products I was using wasn't compatible with my skin too so I decided to go back to basics, turn to the products and brands that I trust, and added 2 new items, the Neutrogena Deep Clean Foaming Cleanser, and baking soda as my facial scrub (every other day).

Morning Routine:
1) I would use just a pea size of the Neutrogena Deep Clean Foaming Cleanser, rub it in between my hands first, then massage on my skin in only 15 seconds or less. Since my face is already clean from the night before, I don't need deep cleansing in the morning anymore. It also prevents my skin from drying.
2) After patting my skin dry, I'll apply the Dickinson's Witch Hazel Toner using a cotton pad
3) While my skin is still damp, I apply enough amount of the Pond's Age Defying Cream on my face and neck. This also serves as my sunscreen so I don't use other sun protection product anymore.

Evening Routine:
1) I remove my makeup using Sanicare Cleansing Wipes. This is a new favorite because it's very soft and smooth on the skin.
2) Then I use the same amount of the Neutrogena Deep Clean Foaming Cleanser
3) Next I apply the Dickinson's Witch Hazel Toner until the cotton pad is free from any dirt or stains from my makeup
4) I apply the SOS all over my face while my skin is still damp from toning.
5) After the SOS has dried, I massage Pond's Age Defying Cream on my face and neck. I don't use a night cream anymore.

If it's time to exfoliate (I do this every other day) I take about a pea size baking soda and add a drop of water to make a paste, and massage it on my skin, after I use the cleanser. I only use a small amount because baking soda can dry the skin.

Below are unedited photos of me with my bare skin in different lighting conditions. I have nothing on my skin and just woke up when I took this picture. If you look closer, you can see my enormous pores, redness on my cheeks and around the nose, and some pimple marks on my forehead.

I'm really happy that my skin has now cleared (slightly). Oh, and the one thing I changed is I increased my water intake! I seriously have been drinking more now. I used to drink 1 liter of water a day; I know it's terrible, but I don't like water. I'm sure others can relate to this too (I'm not weird). I had to force myself to drink at least 2 liters a day, and now I'm getting used to it, and I must because it's good for me :).

I'll slowly be back to posting here now. I have too many product reviews overdue now. Please check back anytime this week if you want to stay updated, or you can follow me around on my social media, links below (I promise, I'll be more active and you'll see more posts from me *wink*).

Anyway, I hope you all are having a great summer. Stay safe, use sunscreen, stay hydrated, apply lip balm, and enjoy the vacation season everyone!

BYS Liquid Eyeliner Waterproof

Don't you just hate it when you're out and about and your eyeliner is running its own business? Ugggh, nightmare! That has happened to me a few times, and that's whyreasonI  don't particularly like eyeliners. This BYS Liquid Eyeliner Waterproof thoughis  another story. I got this a long time ago from my sister when she came home from butAustralia  only started using it last year. I just had the chance to review it. Well, better late than never, right?! :)

BYS Liquid Eyeliner Waterproof in Black

BYS Liquid Eyeliner Waterproof Applicator

This BYS Eyeliner Waterproof is in black and comes with 3.5ml of product in a plastic packaging. I wish the handle was rounded instead for better grip, but the square-ish form isn't too bad. The applicator is slightly stiff, but it was still pretty easy to apply. You can effortlessly create a thin or thick line, unless you have shaky hands :). It's quite runny but comes out a nice black color on a single application. If you want it to appear bolder, just add another layer on top.

Below are some swatches:

If you check out the swatches, the liner is really black and that's what I love most about it. It stays on all day and doesn't make a mess. It's sweat and tear-proof too. Some waterproof eyeliners melt on the outer corner of my eyes, which can be pretty annoying, but this one doesn't budge, a tough one :). It stays on as long as you want! It's easy to remove too! I either use EVOO or vaseline on a cotton swab to remove, and it takes off without difficulty. No makeup is perfect though and this too has its own flaw, unfortunately. It can flake badly if you don't shake it up really well before the application.

You can see in the photo above that the eyeliner shows up nicely and very pigmented, even on top of eyeshadow. It's easy to work with and dries quickly. I'm not sure if this is available locally, and how much it costs, but it's really inexpensive in Australia. It's probably P200+ - P300 if available in the country, which to me is not bad considering the quality. BYS Liquid Eyeliner is an inexpensive product that doesn't compromise value, definitely a good one to try.

Dry Hair? Try the Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Rinse

Did you know that apple cider vinegar has lots of benefits and is good for the hair too?! I used to have very dry hair from heat styling and coloring, and I often buy hair products and use it at the same time to treat it. Then one day I decided to use natural products on my hair instead of a store bought hair products because I thought it would be more effective. Since hair-care products use raw ingredients, why not skip all the chemicals and just go straight to the source?! That way, my hair gets all the nutrients it needs, plus it's cheaper and easier to prepare. So I started to do some research and read a few positive reviews on Apple Cider Vinegar. I've heard about this a long time ago, but I didn't bother trying it all. I blame it on the laziness. Then I tried it for a week, and the result was lovely!

I started my Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Rinse 4 months ago and after continued use, I noticed that my hair has improved. It isn't dry and brittle anymore, and I have less hair fall. I didn't expect to see dramatic results this fast. I was kind of surprised myself, and I wish I started earlier. I do use a homemade hair mask too so I'm not giving all the credit to the Apple Cider Vinegar. Although, I started with this hair remedy first, and my hair has gotten a lot better since then.

Here are some of the hair care benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar:
  • Balances hair and scalp pH
  • Removes product buildup
  • Treats dandruff
  • Minimizes hair loss
  • Locks in moisture into the hair
  • Adds body and shine

For those who are interested, here's the very easy to prepare recipe :)

Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Rinse
1 part of the Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar
1 part filtered or mineral water

Mix both ingredients. Rinse hair after shampooing. For extra conditioning, leave on for 1-2 minutes and rinse well. The smell will fade away after a few minutes so don't worry. You don't need to use a conditioner anymore after rinsing your hair but feel free to do so if your hair needs extra nourishment.

I use this twice a week because my hair is dry, and this gives it life and makes it bouncy and shiny.

TIPS:
  • Use a cologne spray or any spray container so it's easy to spread the concoction over the entire hair, and you don't waste too much product versus pouring it all in from a glass of water.
  • Prepare the rinse fresh each time if possible. I get better results with this. If not, make one that's good for a few uses, and keep the extra in the fridge.

I also use Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar as a toner too, and it really works great! It doesn't sting and doesn't cause me any skin irritation. It's the only toner I trust not to dry my skin or break me out other than my Dickinson's. The advantage of the Apple Cider Vinegar though is I don't need to run to the store to buy it. It's way cheaper too! I'll make another post on that to share my experience soon.

Have a great weekend everyone! Be safe and God bless :)
