NYX Powder Blush in Silky Rose

I can't believe this is my first post for July! This has been a crazy month for me due to so many personal and work stuff. My June was also pretty insane, and I'm a little sad that I don't have as much time for my blog anymore. I have been meaning to review this blush because a few people have asked me how I find it already, but I only had the chance to do it today. I wish to be able to do more from this day forward.

NYX Powder Blush in Silky Rose

Anyway this is my review of the NYX Powder Blush in Silky Rose which I have been loving a LOT. I got it for P285, and it's worth every cent because it's highly pigmented, and long lasting! It comes in a clean black plastic packaging with 5.2 grams of product, which I think is a lot :). It will take me a while to hit pan with this blush, and that's a good thing.

Ingredients list

the shade looks intimidating but it's really pretty on the skin :)

What I love about this blush is the shade. It's a mauvey pink blush which brings the face a nice glow, and makes me look like I have been out in the cold. The color looks intimidating from the packaging and on the swatch, but it looks natural on the skin when applied with a very light hand because it's sheer. I love how concentrated this blush is so you only need a very little amount, especially if you have fair skin as it can look really dark. I literally have to pat my brush, and that's good for a single application. The problem I have with this though is it's very powdery, so I avoid using a powder blush and instead a stipple brush, where I'm able to control the color easier and not break the blush when swiping over the cake. Make sure to tap off any excess on the brush.

Did I mention that this is matte? I'm mad about matte blushes because it just looks so natural, and it doesn't emphasize my pores :D. This blush is a breeze to blend because it's velvety soft, and the powder is fine. It's also easy to build up. Just apply a little at a time, instead of taking a whole lot and end up buffing it out. The shade will surely look good on every skin tone, and a great everyday blush as it doesn't make you look too made up. It can last for more than 6hrs, even longer when you're indoors with AC, which is just wonderful.

I have been reaching for this blush more often for almost a month now because I just love it so much. I was a little scared when I first saw the color from the packaging. I wasn't the shade I was expecting because the swatches on blogs appear lighter than the actual color. I'm glad that I got this shade because it's really my most favorite blush color as of the moment. I read that this is a similar shade as Dusty Rose so if you have it, you don't really need to get this one anymore :). It's also a close dupe of Nars Dolce Vita.

My verdict: 5 STARS!!! I recommend this blush to everyone. It's a good-quality blush for a very reasonable price, and so worth it.
