Holiday Look: Glossy Red Lips

It's only 28 days before Christmas! Who's excited?! Christmas is my favorite holiday because it brings family together, and everyone seems really happy and nicer. Many of us will be attending lots of parties and celebrations during this season, so I came up with a holiday inspired makeup. I will be creating a few more holiday makeup videos, and I am starting with Glossy Red Lips.

Red is the color of Christmas, and many of us do wear red lips on parties during the holidays, so I created a look that's easy to do but make you appear polished, classy, and sexy. Anyone can do this makeup for there aren't really so much technique used to create this look. I applied light and matte colors on the eyes, and added falsies to give it a dramatic effect. The key to this makeup is the face, which we need to keep flawless. Red lips can accentuate the redness on the face, so concealing and using a full-coverage foundation is advisable. However, if you have very good skin and do not have too many imperfections or redness to cover, light coverage foundation or bb cream is perfect! I kept the face matte and didn't use anything with shimmer or highlighter as glossy red lips already gives the face a lot of attention.

If you like to wear a matte lipstick, that will work too! Then you can highlight the tops of your cheeks, bridge of the nose, forehead, brow bone, and cupid's bow to add some more radiance and dimension to the face. A straight sleek hair or sexy waves will be perfect for this look!

I hope this video was helpful! :)

Holiday Look: Drama Eyes

I got this gorgeous red lipstick last week and I thought of doing another Holiday Look :). Since there'll be plenty of parties to attend to this holiday season I think it's just right if we wear different looks, right?

I was really inspired to do a vampy/holiday look for the holidays because of this very gorgeous Maybelline  Color Sensational Lipstick in Wine. This is more appropriate for an evening affair or even costume parties :D. I used the ELF Brightening Eyeshadow in Drama which is really fantastic. As you can see it created a beautiful smokey effect. Although the colors are so intense and extremely pigmented, it wasn't hard to work with because the shadow is very easy to blend. I didn't expect that a P129.75 eyeshadow can create this look. And all the colors you need are in one quad. I just added a brown shadow on the crease for better transition of colors when blending and to also counteract the very dark effect on the eyes. I also used a grey base so the shadow shows up and stick on better. You can wear false lashes to make the eyes sexier and more dramatic. I just applied loads of mascara to make my lashes fuller.

pulling my hair back so can see better :)

Here I used the Revlon Creme Lip Gloss in Just Blushed. This smokey eye is just so gorgeous to only wear once :). I love the dewy effect on the face better because it matches with the creme lip gloss which by the way is to die for if you are a fan of nude lip colors! The eyes are too intense but the nude lipstick makes this look wearable for any celebration.

Products Used:

Maybelline Pure Stay Foundation
Avon Smooth Minerals Blush in Blushed
Revlon Matte Shadow in Rich Sable

Fanny Serrano Gel Eyeliner in Black
Avon Extra Lasting Mascara in Black
Maybelline Solor Sensational Lipstick in Wine

I also didn't do any more contouring because I wanted to keep a healthy glow look here. You may of course do some contouring and highlighting if you want but you have to tone it down a bit because the eyes are already very dark and sparkly. I only changed the lip color here but I just love how the blush matched with the nude lips. I'm excited to wear both looks but I love the nude lips more because of how it turned out youthful but elegant :).

I sure will be creating more holiday looks so for those interested, please stay tuned for more :)! Take care everyone.

Holiday Look: Earth Tones

I did this look the other day when I was about to sleep :). I got a new Avon quad in earth tones and I wanted to play with it. The colors are amazing and I was inspired to do a holiday look! The eyes are really intense so I kept the face and the lips simple.

The coverage on the face is very light. I used ELF All Over Cover Stick only on the center of my face to neutralize the redness then applied loose powder. For a more polished look and if you are wearing this for a party, you may apply liquid foundation for a more polished look. I did quite a few blending on the outer corner to the crease to keep the smokey effect fine and avoid harsh edges.

Products Used:
Garnier BB Eye Roll On
ELF All Over Cover Stick
Revlon Loose Powder
Revlon Powder Blush in Smoky Rose
Revlon Matte Shadow in Rich Sable
ELF Primer
ELF Duo Eyeshadow Cream in Olive
Avon True Colors Eyeshadow Quad in Earth Tones
Avon Eyeshadow Quad in Cocoa Glow
Cover Girl Eye Enhancer in Pink Chiffon
Fanny Serrano Gel Eyeliner in Black
Avon Extra Lasting Mascara in Black
NYC Ultra Moist Lipstick in Violet Shine
Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in Pink Afterglow

How I did this look:

I'm using dark shadows so I did the eyes first, and because the Avon eyeshadow is kinda chalky so I wanted to avoid the fall outs.

1) I started with defining my brows using the Revlon Matte Eyeshadow in Rich Sable. I love using this shadow for my brows because it's very pigmented and easy to work with.
2) Once done I then primed my eyes using the ELF Primer to keep the eyeshadow in place and make it last longer.
3) Then I used the lighter green shadow on the Olive ELF Duo Cream Eyeshadow as my sticky base for the eyeshadow to show up better.
4) I applied a brown matte shadow on the crease first so when I start applying the other shadows it will just blend easier
5) With a flat shader brush I used the green shadow first and patted it on the inner 2/3 of the lids. And using a fluffy brush I applied the dark brown shadow on the outer third blending it on the crease. Then I applied the golden shadow on the center of the lids blending it on the green and the dark brown color, and used the off-white shadow on the brow bone for highlight.
6) Afterward I used a gel liner to define my eyes by creating a very thin line closer to the lash line. You can wing this out if you want to make your eyes look longer. I then lined my upper and lower water line. To set the liner I applied the green shadow on the inner half of my lower lashes, placed the yellow color on the inner half, and the Pink Chiffon on the inner corners. I then added another layer of black eyeliner to define the eyes more. Adding a color on the bottom lashes on top of the liner will make the look softer if you don't like the look on the eyeliner alone. I then curled my lashes and applied mascara
8) Using my Garnier BB Eye Roll-On I concealed my under eye circles and cleaned up the fall outs.
9) With my foundation brush, I applied the ELF All Over Cover Stick Stick on the center of my face mainly where I see redness.
10) To set my makeup, I took my ELF Complexion brush and applied Revlon Loose Powder.
11) On the lips I used the NYC Ultra Moist Lipstick in Violet Shine and added Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in Pink Afterglow only on the center of my lips to accentuate and give the lips a pretty look.

Have a wonderful holidays everyone and Advance Merry Christmas! :D

FOTD: Cocoa Glow

I did this look the other day but couldn't post it yesterday as I said I would because I had to be somewhere important. So this is the look I did using The Face Shop Jewel Powder which I reviewed 2 days ago and the Human Nature Mineral Lip Gloss. Just click the links if you want to read my reviews and swatches.

This is a nice dramatic smokey look for the coming holidays and parties. I kept the whole face toned down as the eyes are already intense and the star of the look. I only tight lined and didn't apply eyeliner on my upper lash line anymore. You may do so and even wing it out a little bit if you want the whole look to be more intense.

I only added the jewel powder lightly on the inner and middle part of the lid to add sparkles to the look and not cover the whole area. This will keep the smokey effect even when the light reflects on the glitters. If you want more coverage, you can use foundation instead of a bb cream.

with human nature gloss on top of the lipstick

On the last photo I applied the Human Nature Mineral Lip Gloss and it toned down the coral lipstick I have on. It looks more nude however fitting for the look too. I love how it neutralizes the lipstick to give it a nude effect without putting on too much. And it's not overly glossy as well. You may also use a light pink blush with nude pink lips if you like pink more for this look and match your dress :)
