Neutrogena Revitalizing Pink Grapefruit Ultra Foam Cleanser Review

I have been meaning to review this cleanser for such a long time, but my schedule hasn't allowed me to put this up earlier. I bought it in November last year when I was in the hunt for a good cleanser that I can replace with my Olay which I have been using for a while. The price is alright at P319.00 for 175ml of product, and although I have read so many mixed reviews about this cleanser, I was still drawn into trying it to see for myself.

Neutrogena says:

  • Cleans deep down into pores with a self-dispensing luxurious foam
  • Effectively removes up to 90% of oil, dirt, and impurities
  • Contains pink grapefruit, helps eliminate dead skin cells for younger-looking and healthy skin.

List of Ingredients

I love the packaging not only because it's pink, but because it's looks so clean! The pump is smooth and dispenses enough product. I love that it's a foam cleanser because it isn't too concentrated anymore when you massage it on the skin. It doesn't lather much, but it cleanses the skin really well. It does remove 90% of the oil, dirt, and impurities, and it's doing a good job so far for almost 4 months now. Some say that this doesn't remove makeup, well it's because it isn't a makeup remover type of cleanser, so don't expect to use this to take off your makeup, unless you wash it twice, which I don't suggest you do because it will really dry out your skin. 2 pumps are good enough for me, and I use 3 pumps to remove excess makeup for deep cleansing.

3 pumps of cleanser

I don't recommend this to anyone who has dry skin because this will dry your skin more and cause you breakouts or irritation. If you have normal skin, and you are prone to whiteheads and blackheads, this is a cleanser to consider. I have oily skin and fiance' has combination skin (very oily and dry but very sensitive), yet his skin loves this cleanser a lot. I use it twice everyday, in the morning and evening. I put on a moisturizer within 3 minutes after cleansing because that is the best time to apply it while the skin is still damp, otherwise, my skin feels really dehydrated. Although it does remove dead skin cells, I would, however, use a facial scrub twice a week for thorough exfoliation.

My verdict: 4 STARS! For now, this is my go to cleanser, and I will continue using it. It has prevented whiteheads and kept my skin clean and clear. I'm already on my second bottle and so far; it's all good. For the men, if you're interested in a man's opinion which has used this for 4 months, here's a short review from the fiance' :).

He says:
"I think this cleanser works better on men who have very oily skin because it's a deep cleanser that's not harsh on skin. I have tried several cleansers, but this is the one I really like so far. 2 thumbs up!"

Skin Care: St. Ives Renew and Firm Apricot Scrub Review

Hello everyone! I was MIA for almost 2 weeks now because I'm out of town. My grandfather is very sick so the whole family decided to come home. It's a little depressing and stressful because of the situation but it's definitely nice to see them again, especially my siblings and nieces.

So this skin care review is on St. Ives Renew and Firm Apricot Scrub. I have been wanting to try this for awhile but I have 3 other St. Ives scrubs too so I wanted to finish them first before trying this one. I forgot how much I paid for this but I guess the price range is between P150 - P180 which is not expensive at all because you get a lot of product at 170g. It claims to visibly firm and tone the skin and with age-defying technology. Who doesn't want that?! :D

St. Ives Renew and Firm Apricot Scrub Ingredients

I took a photo of the ingredients if you want to know what this scrub is made of. It is not tested on animals. It doesn't contain animal ingredients. It is formulated without parabens and phthalates.

I've been using this scrub 4 times a week for 2 weeks now and I have noticed that my skin is really softer and smoother. I'm very stressed but I see that the condition of my skin has improved. I like that the beads are not too big and hard so the exfoliation is very gentle. After scrubbing my skin just feels clean, fresh, soft, and smooth. I don't feel any drying or tightness on my face which is really good. It also reduces the redness on my face which is just what I need! The smell is really good, it has a creamy consistency, and very gentle on the skin. It didn't break me out just like other St. Ives products and just love this scrub.

I will definitely repurchase this scrub and I give it 5 STARS!!!

Skin Care Product Review: Olay Total Effects Anti-Aging Cream

I've always wanted to use this moisturizer but I just got one for myself since I started using the Olay Cleanser. This is in a smaller pump bottle with 20g of product for the price of P254 from Watson's. It was on sale so I decided to take advantage of the promo. I'm glad that they have a cheaper and smaller version so I won't feel so bad if it doesn't work well for me.

Olay Total Effects Anti-Aging Cream Ingredients

The image above shows the ingredients of the moisturizer for those who are interested on trying this product and want to make sure it doesn't contain anything they are allergic to.

I am not very much impressed of this moisturizer because it makes my skin look a little more oily. I expected this to be my HG skin care product but it's not as amazing as I expected it to be after using it for a week. It takes awhile before my skin absorbs the product so I have to wait for awhile before I put on my makeup. I normally apply this in the evening and my skin is really soft when I wake up. I do notice that my skin has been smoother and looks more refreshed since I started using it. I like that my cheeks are rosier too (wink). My pores has been minimized since I started using Dickinson's Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner 2 months ago ( I wrote a review on this product so do check it out if you are interested) so I cannot give all the credit to Olay. I don't notice any dramatic result on my fine lines yet but I understand that it takes awhile. Probably after another week. It also has a smell that is not very nice and  it doesn't matter as long as it works but I like it better if it's unscented. I think the one for oily skin will work for me but they don't it in have a smaller packaging. I don't want to be spending P699 for a moisturizer which I am unsure if will work for me or not. So far I like it but I expected more. I have tried Pond's Anti-Aging Cream before and it was way better.

Overall this product works good but it's just greasy. I give it 3.5 STARS!!!

Skin Care Product Review: Olay Clarity Fresh Cleanser for Oily/Combination Skin

I was in the grocery a week and a half ago and found this cleanser and it got me thinking, this would better for my oily skin. The price of this cleanser is P169.75 for 100g of product and I think it's a good deal. I have mentioned on my few posts that I have been breaking out on my chin area and I blamed the hormones but I was wrong LOL! I have tried stopping my toner for a few days and then my moisturizer for a few days too to isolate what's causing the non-stop breakout but they just kept coming one after the other. The only thing I didn't stop using was my Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser. When I got this Olay Clarity Fresh Cleanser, immediately used it the breakout stopped which was a complete surprise! I have never had a problem with cetaphil until now. My skin isn't that oily but I guess it's not enough to cleanse my face of impurities. So now my skin looks a lot better! Breakout free and I am very, very glad.

What I love about this cleanser is that you only need to use a very little amount to clean your face. It strips off all the dirt and oil and I only need to use a small amount of toner too every time. The consistency is not too thick. It's just a regular white cleanser with a distinct Olay scent. I am just grateful for this cleanser and I will continue using it. So far it has not caused me any blemish so I give it 5 STARS!!! Hopefully the breakout stops here because it's been causing me a lot of stress.

I hope you find this review helpful. If you have questions please let me know. Take care! :D
