St. Ives Mineral Clay Firming Mask Review

I was looking for a deep cleansing mask and I read some great reviews about this product so I decided to try it. I have used Garnier's Self-Heating Sauna Mask and it was okay but I find that it gives me breakouts. I also notice that it clogs my pores if I don't use hot water to rinse it off. It's not the first Garnier product I tried that broke me out. Their moisturizer also caused me some zits so I plan to stay away from their products for awhile. I use quite a few St. Ives facial products and none of them cause me any breakouts so I was a little confident about this mask.

St. Ives Mineral Clay Mask Swatch

If you have tried the Garnier mask it looks pretty much alike but one has a thinner consistency. It doesn't sting but has typical mask smell which scared me a little when I first applied it on my skin. After 2 minutes of application you can feel that it firms and tightens the skin but you know that it's not hurting it. What I love about St. Ives Products is that they don't use animal products, it doesn't contain parabens, and phthalates which has earlier been reported to be a health risk.

After I rinsed the mask off, I noticed that my pores are finer and a little smoother. I didn't feel any drying and it didn't strip off the natural oils of my skin which is amazing. It's a gentle deep cleansing and pore minimizing mask at a reasonable price. Probably one of the best in the market :). I have only used this 3 times for the past 14 days and no breakouts yet which is making me very happy! I heard that it reduces the puffiness under the eyes but I don't want to try it as it maybe too strong for the under eye skin. Although it's not drying I wouldn't use this more than twice a week as it could lead to skin drying.

I notice that my skin has improved indeed but I am not giving all the credits to the mask as I have added another product on my skin care routine which has received amazing reviews! I'll be creating another post about it and how it helped my skin look better.

I love this mask and I will continue using this product as long as it's available in the market!  I give this mask 5 STARS!

St. Ives Daily Microdermabrasion Review

This is an award winning scrub and has been talked about a lot over the internet. If you visit their website, the product claims: with fine mineral crystals, chamomile & vitamin E • Dermatologist-Tested • 100% natural extracts • Formulated without parabens and phthalates • does not contain animal ingredients • Not tested on animals. If you also read the user reviews on the site, all of it are very promising and the consumers really loved them! Who wouldn't want to try a product that doesn't test on animals, contains 100% natural ingredients, and is tested by dermatologist. I for one have an oily but sensitive skin so it is a must for me that the product is made with natural components and is not chemical based.

I have been wanting to try this scrub for a long time because I have read positive reviews about this product but it's always out of stock. When I finally got it in my hands I was so excited to use it but I was also a little worried that it may not work well with my current skin care using other St. Ives scrubs and damage my skin. Even so I still decided to give it a try because I don't want to miss this award winning product which may work out pretty well for me. On first use the mild chamomile scent is so heavenly it makes me want to use it more. The fresh fragrance is very comforting and you just know that it's caring for the skin on every use. Chamomile is known for its anti-inflammatory, anti-allergy, anti-bacterial and moisturizing properties that doesn't only help with the redness and swelling on the skin but also nourishes it. A small amount of this product goes a long way because it has more than enough granules you need to scrub your face and even your neck. Its grains are smaller compared to the reputable apricot scrubs that almost everyone loves so it's really delicate for daily use. The granules are made from fine mineral crystals that helps maintain the skin's tone and elasticity.

I use this scrub everyday to help remove excess makeup, oil, and dirt and it doesn't dry my skin at all. Immediately after scrubbing, my skin just feels so clean yet very soft and silky. With just three weeks use, my pores are minimized and my face is less oily. It has cleared whiteheads around my nose which in the past is almost impossible without the help of a good toner which is amazing. My skin has never been so soft, clear, and blemish free and I will continue using this scrub so long as St. Ives continues to manufacture this product. It does gently reveals younger looking and refined skin.

Listed are the ingredients for those who wants to know more about the components of this product.

If you are allergic to any of the active ingredients of this product, please take extreme caution and perform a skin test 24-48 hours before using this scrub. I hope this review helps anyone who wants to learn more about this scrub.

St Ives Collagen Elastin Facial Moisturizer Review

If you are a fan of a moisturizer that is not greasy yet does the job well, you will surely love this one. I have not considered this moisturizer before because I have sensitive skin and I breakout from most facial lotions. The one I have used for a long time was Loreal's Pure Zone face lotion which is for oily skin, it reduces pores, and controls oil and breakouts and I loved it a lot only that it's been discontinued. I know many users have been upset about this move by Loreal too. They make great products and then discontinue them for good which is a total bummer. Before I got this product, I was using Olay's moisturizer for sensitive skin but it doesn't do wonders. As a facial lotion it's great as it keeps my skin hydrated but that's the only thing it does. I want a good moisturizer to keep my skin healthy and minimize my pores. Based on reviews, most users rated this product 5 stars and and said this is another amazing product from St Ives so I took another leap of faith and bought this one.

St Ives Timeless Skin Collagen Elastin Facial Moisturizer visibly reduces fine lines and wrinkles which is what everyone wants. It doesn't only hydrates the skin but also makes it softer and smoother. I have to say that I am glad I read the reviews and tried this because so far it has not disappointed me. I seriously noticed my skin looked better and my crows feet have been minimized after just 3 days of use. I couldn't believe it at first but what I see in the mirror tells it all. This is suitable for daily use in the morning and evening so there is no need to use 2 moisturizers. It doesn't however contain spf so you have to apply a good sun lotion if you are exposing your skin to direct sunlight.

I have nothing bad to say about this moisturizer. It smells really like a fresh and clean, it doesn't contain harmful chemicals, doesn't clog pores, dermatologist tested, only made with natural ingredients, and is not tested on animals. It's formulated without parabens and phthalates which is a great deal. For the price you get a lot of product and it will take me a long time to use this up. A little amount goes a long way because it blends well on the skin. It's non-greasy and works well as a makeup base. I used it today and my face wasn't oily even after 8 hours which is terrific. I guess it's too early to say that this is the best moisturizer I have tried but so far it does great on my skin. As long as it doesn't make me breakout there is no way I am using another moisturizer.

St Ives Apricot Scrub Gentle Review

St Ives has recently been my go to skin care brand because it doesn't only work great for me but it has positive reviews from users. I only use my blemish and blackhead control scrub 4 times a week so I want to have another one I can use for daily exfoliation. Although I read from reviews that they use the blemish and blackhead control scrub everyday, I prefer not to do that as it contain salicylic acid and is medicated for acne. Using it beyond the recommendation from St Ives may increase skin sensitivity and could cause irritation.

I have only used this scrub for 3 days but I'm already liking it because it's mild and really appropriate for daily use. And it's oil free so it is suited for sensitive or even oily skin like mine. The scent is also not as strong as the blemish and blackhead control scrub and the grains are fewer for gentle exfoliation. After washing I can immediately notice smoother and clearer skin. I couldn't say more why I like this scrub. It works great, cleans my pores, exfoliates well, and is highly effective. It has received awards from Teen Vogue and it's one of the best selling scrubs from St Ives. However, if you think you maybe allergic to any of the ingredients, it's best to do a patch test first for precaution.

Take note that after cleaning and scrubbing, you need to apply a good face lotion to keep your skin moisturized, smooth, and younger looking. I hope this helps!

St Ives Blemish and Blackhead Control Apricot Scrub Review

I have been looking for a facial scrub that I can trust just like my Loreal Pure Zone Scrub which has sadly been discontinued but I couldn't find one that works great on my skin. I cannot use any product for oily skin on my face because it's very sensitive and I end up having breakouts. If not, it does nothing on my whiteheads which is a complete waste of money and time. I know St Ives works great for others but I don't know why I haven't tried it yet. My mom has great skin and she uses St Ives scrub for awhile now. Out of desperation, I grabbed this product while I was buying groceries and hoped it doesn't mess with my face.

Unlike Loreal Pure Zone Scrub (which I loved btw!), it contains natural ingredients using walnut shell as exfoliator which is a little rough on skin during the first use. You just have to gently massage it on your skin to avoid over scrubbing and hurting your face. The scrub is totally non-drying unlike other brands I have tried before. There is no tingling or tightening after feel which is a great deal for me because I have sensitive skin. It has prevented occasional breakouts during my period which has not happened in the past. I always break out during that time of the month, argh!

I have only used this scrub for a month now and I have not had any breakouts or small bumps in my face. It exfoliates my skin very well and has kept it soft and smooth. I also noticed that my acne scars have slowly lightened so I hope that this scrub continues to do the great job it has been been doing on my skin. I have to say that I am impressed with the quality of the scrub and how it cleared my skin of whiteheads and bumps.

EDIT: 4/13/2011

I'm on to my second tube of this wonderful scrub now. I have a total of 4 different scrubs all from St. Ives and I love all of them but this is my ultimate favorite. One tube lasted me for long but of course I was using this in alternate with my other scrubs. I have never had any acne breakouts ever since I started using St. Ives Scrubs and I'm very happy with the results.

I hope my review is helpful and if you have any questions or comments, kindly leave them down below. Please follow me on blogger and twitter, and like me on facebook if you haven't already. I'd appreciate it very much! :)
