NOTD: Purple and Yellow

Hey everyone. How are you all doing? I just want to quickly post a nail of the day photo. This isn't in any way inspired by the LA LAKERS :). I didn't notice it at all until fiance' brought it up because these are their colors. He thought it's inspired by the team, but no it's not. I only wanted to wear something new today, so I painted one nail yellow and the others purple to give it a fun and summer appropriate look.

I took this photo using my Note 2 without flash, so I can show you the true colors of the polishes on my nails. Do you like it?! I'm also publishing this from my phone to catch up on my blog. It's been a while since I last put up anything here.


I used one brand only and it's from The Face Shop. Color codes/names are listed below:

My Top 10 The Face Shop Nail Polish for 2011

I see some posts around beauty blogs on their top 10 products and I thought of doing mine per category. Since I love nail polishes so much, I'm doing this post first! I have a bunch of nail polishes from my 2011 purchases and it's not easy to narrow it down to just 10. 95% of my nail color collection is from TFS so I selected all the colors from the TFS polishes.

I'm attaching the link to my reviews on every polish mentioned on this post in case you want to check the swatches and what I think about every polish.  Choosing the best among these 10 polishes is not easy because I love them all. However, if I have to choose the color I loved the most on my nails, so here they are:

BR801 / PP409 / BL604 / OR203 / RD303

1) BL604

I love this the most because my nails looked so elegant on this polish. It's a deep blue nail polish that is a good alternative to black if you don't like wearing a very black polish. It didn't last long on my nails when I first tried it because I was using LA Colors base which I didn't work well with TFS nail polishes. I wore this shade again some time last year and it lasted a long time without chipping. 

2) RD303

This is the deep red color which is just gorgeous as well. It's a lovely color to wear if you want to beautify your nails. It looks especially pretty on fair to medium skin tone. 

3) RD301

It's a red-orange polish with gold glitters on. It's  a little more pricey but it just looks gorgeous and easy to apply! 

4) BK901

This is my first crackle polish and I have to say that I really like it. It's a black crackle polish which is a little pricey compared to the regular TFS nail polishes but I think it's worth it as this gives a pretty nail art without all the hard work :).

5) BR801

I really love this sheer beige nail color! It looks lovely on the nails and perfect for any occasion and even wedding because it gives the nails a very elegant look!

6) OR203

This is a very sheer and super gorgeous orange nail color! The sheer effect makes it very wearable and is perfect for the summer and this year when tangerine tango color is IN! 

7) PK105

This is another cute summer nail color in candy pink! I love pink so much and I'm just in love with this color! 

8) GR502

This I believe is my first green nail polish and I so much love it! It's so flattering and made me fall in love with my own nails LOL!

9) RD301

It's a very lovely red orange shade that will give the nails a nice flush! It's also a good shade to wear this year because it's the fashion color for 2012. I can also see myself wearing this for the summer :)

10) PP409

It's a nice purple-y blue 2 tone shade polish. I like the effect of this polish on my nails as it changes color especially on a high lighting environment, and it's really pigmented and quick drying. 

So there you have it! My favorite nail polish shades from my 2011 purchases. I have a few more to review so stay tuned nail color addicts! :D. 

The Face Shop Nail Polish RD301 Swatches and Review

I was supposed to do a review on this nail color a few weeks ago but I skipped it and used the purple nail polish instead. This is a red orange / neon red nail polish which is very bright and good for the summer. It's the rainy season in the country now but I don't mind wearing a bright nail color. I have it on my toe nails and it looks really pretty on flip flops. The retails price is at P95 at any The Face Shop store.

I took a few shots so you see how it looks on different lighting condition. I'm so into tangerine/orange colors now and I like this shade a lot. It's glossy and can be used alone but I preferred adding a top coat to avoid scratches to it. It's also very pigmented and opaque. I only applied 2 coats and it was enough to create a bold look. The product is not at all streaky, not too thick, and very pigmented so the application was smooth and easy.

This color will suit any skin tone but will look bolder on fair skin and make the skin look a lot lighter. I don't like putting very bright nail colors on my toe nails but this one is just lovely to look at. This is definitely one of the best nail shade to wear for summer! It started chipping after 3 days though so it's a little disappointing because I wanted it to last longer. Other than that, this is just a great nail color!

This ends my nail polish review for today and I hope you like this post. I'm also hoping that this helps anyone in any way. My verdict: 4 STARS!!! I will surely purchase other color! I'm trying the ELF nail colors too and will write a review about it soon :D.

Cute Summer Nails: The Face Shop Nail Polish PK105

I have done quite a few reviews of TFS Nail Polish so this will not be a full review but more of a swatch post. I was intending to make a review and swatches of a new shade that I got which is green but I noticed that I haven't used this one yet so I decided to do this one first to show some pictures of how cute this color is. This shade is in PK105 that retails at P99. It's a very pretty pink shade suitable for the season! Summer is not my favorite season because it's burning hot but this is the time when most people hit the beach, enjoy the vacation, and be in style (of course compared to the rainy season). I really like wearing bright colors on my nails and this is the best time to do it! 

Below are some of the photos of the nail color on my nails. I broke my nails 3 days ago **sad** so I cut it short but I think it still looks pretty nice and clean :).

Pink is my favorite color and this is one of the best pink nail colors I have used. I actually saw another pink toned nail polish when I bought the green one 2 days ago and I am excited to get my nails on them :). It's a brighter shade and more candy like. Will definitely get them this week and post some pictures after the green one so you see how cute it is. 

Just like the other TFS Nail Colors I have tried, this one is easy to apply, very pigmented, and fast drying! I love The Face Shop Nail Colors and I give this one 5 STARS!!! :D

The Face Shop Nail Polish PP409 Swatches and Review

I was supposed to post this 2 days ago but Globe, my ISP, was down for almost 12hrs and I couldn't go online. My phone signal was down as well because of the Globe problems so I couldn't post this using my phone either so I apologize if I mentioned on my previous post that I was going to make another review 2 days ago.

It's the summer but been a wet summer for the past few days so I decided to wear a nice nail color that suits the weather. On the pictures, the nail color looks more blue but it's actually a purple nail polish with blue under tones. Actually more like a 2 tone polish. It looks purple when it's dark and blue in direct light which I like a lot :).

For those who already are familiar with my blog, I have done many The Face Shop Nail Polish reviews before so I won't go in depth anymore with this one as they pretty much work the same. For those who are new here, please check out my other nail polish review as you may like them too. This is still from their classic nail polish line which retails at P99. PROS:

• Great Color
• Easy to apply
• Fast drying
• Very pigmented

I only had to apply 2 coats and I'm already satisfied with the color.


CONS:

• It chipped easily! 

Only 4 hours after application and  it started chipping which is a bummer. This is the first nail polish I have that chipped this fast and that's a little disappointing.

Overall the color is great and I like how it looks on my nails. I give this 3.5 STARS only because it was not long lasting. If it was, I would have given this nail color a 4.5 stars,

The Face Shop Nail Polish OR203 Swatches and Review

Hello all! I got a new nail polish from Face Shop yesterday and I put it on today. This is in OR203 and is a sheer nail color. It's the first sheer nail polish I have tried from Face Shop and I really love it. There was only one shade of sheer nail color left when I visited the store so I decided to just go with orange. I am soo glad I did because it is just so lovely! It retails at P99 and it's all worth it!

Here are the swatches below. I love this color so much and I think this looks very lovely. Orange is the hottest color this summer and so far this is the prettiest orange shade nail polish I have worn. It almost looks like a candy :). This will make a great summer beach nails!

It's sheer so I had to apply 5 coats to achieve this color and that's alright because it doesn't chip like what happens to the classic nail polish if you put on too much coats. I didn't add a top coat to this anymore because I was already happy and satisfied with the shine it gives alone. I always thought orange will make my skin look a little darker but the opposite happened as my skin looks fairer which I like a lot :).

This nail color deserves 5 STARS!!! Good value for money, vibrant color, and easy to apply. I couldn't ask for anything except for more color choices! I bought another shade today and will review it hopefully this week. I'll see how long this sheer nail polish last first before I take it off for another color. Hope you will check that out too.

Hey all! It's been awhile since I last did a review on FS nail colors so I'm doing one tonight. It's the summer so bright colors are so fun to wear now! I have a few bright colors to review and I will try to make a review as soon as I have free time off work. For now I won't go in depth with this one as I have reviewed a few of Face Shop's nail polish before.

The color is very pretty, it's not streaky, and very easy to apply. It dries pretty quickly which I really like as I am oftentimes impatient when waiting for my nails to get done. This particular shade made my skin appear fairer and looks cool to the eyes. One thing I didn't like about this particular bottle though is it chipped very fast! After 2 days it already started chipping which is kind of a bummer. Even so, I still like it because the color is just so pretty especially on the toe nails. Blue is definitely in this summer and this nail polish will make every beach nails look good :D. I give this nail color and overall rating of 4 STARS!
