Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Stick Review

Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Stick 8-In-1 Skin Trasformer

I have been meaning to put up my Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Stick review for some time now, but I have been terribly busy and occupied with so many personal stuff. I'm glad that I finally found a time to post this today. I actually filmed this demo a month ago, but I couldn't make time to put together my review. Anyway, let's get it started!

Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Stick 8-In-1 Skin Transformer is available in 2 shades, fresh and radiance. It contains 10g of product, has SPF 21, and is housed in a twist tube, plastic packaging which is very handy. I got this at SM Department Store for P249.

Using the Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Stick in Fresh

Well, after using it for more than a month, I can say that only 6 lived up to its claims. It does:

  • Reduce imperfections
  • Evens and corrects uneven skin tone
  • Makes the skin feel smooth
  • Refines pores
  • Protects the skin
  • Conceals flaws

These are the benefits that I do love about this product! The 2 most important claims just failed significantly because this bb stick's lasting power is very poor. It does help keep the skin shine free but only for a max of 3hrs from my experience. It could not stand the heat and melts even if you just applied a light layer. This bb stick doesn't resist sweat and sebum at all. If I set it with my Ben Nye Banana Powder, it can last all day. If I use other powders, I can extend the wear up to 6hrs before I start to get oily. However, if I use it alone, my facial oil starts to peek after an hour, which is kind of disappointing.

What to love about this product

It's good it is at reducing flaws. A thin layer can even out the skin tone and minimize imperfections.  It's very easy to apply and blends on the skin smoothly, so it's especially ideal for people on the go. Using your fingers is the best way to apply this product. Don't apply with a sponge because you'll only use more product than you need. It has a powder finish, feels like your skin, and it's buildable. It doesn't break me out either, which I am happy about!

What to watch out for

I wouldn't recommend this to those who have dry skin because it can emphasize dry patches. The lasting power is very poor, and it has a plastic-y smell. It does minimize the fine lines but creases if you don't use a setting powder. It's difficult to find your match because this is only available in 2 shades. Fresh is too pink while Radiance is dark too for me. I didn't want to buy 2 to get the right color, so I had to take the lighter color instead. It doesn't photograph well either because of the high SPF content. However, you can still warm up the skin if you top it off with a darker powder or use a bronzer.

Just using the bb stick. No setting powder

I generally like this bb stick okay, and I recommend it to those who are looking for an inexpensive BB Cream that's available locally and will last you a long time. This product is not bad for everyday use especially for students who want the light coverage of a foundation but without the heavy feel on the face.

Share your thoughts on this BB Stick! I'd love to hear what you think about this product.

  2. I agree that the lasting power is very poor. I think I will just use it if I will be out only for a few hours. Great in-depth review! :)
