Avon Smooth Minerals Powder Foundation Demo and Review

During summer time, I always use mineral foundation because it's longer lasting and normally sweat proof. I have been wanting to try this Avon Smooth Minerals Powder Foundation for so long and only decided to get it this time. I got it in M107 Beige Ocre, which is a shade lighter but my face is naturally lighter than my neck because it doesn't really "burn" like the rest of my body. I have neutral undertones on my face but generally, have yellow skin. I wanted to try to see how I like a darker shade foundation to match my neck, and it's not bad, just different and very new to me. Anyway, I think this only comes in four shades, and the lightest is Light Ocre. I believe the other shades are Almond and Medium, but I'm not 100% certain. It comes in a twist cap plastic container with a sifter and 6grams of product for only P249. It has SPF15, which is good and a must have especially during summer.

The powder isn't finely milled because you can feel tiny grains when you rub it on your skin, but it doesn't scratch the skin at all. It glides on the skin when you apply it, and it's easy to blend. It's a light coverage foundation but buildable to medium as long as you have a good base for the powder to stick on to, just like any regular mineral foundation. If you use this alone, it will only offer minimal coverage like a pressed powder. It has a good yellow undertone to it so it brightens up the face and neutralizes any redness on the skin. It doesn't cake or crease and can definitely stand the heat and sweat!

Here are some photos that I took using this foundation:

There's no flashback, which is good; however, it contains light reflective minerals that can make the skin look oily in photos. In person, though this foundation makes your skin look luminous, healthy, and glowing. If you have a darker skin tone than I do, you can even use this to highlight the tops of your cheeks, brow bone, inner corner, and bridge of your nose. I use this foundation to set my Ever Bilena Pro Flawless Finish Foundation instead of applying it alone, and the combination is really good. It gives a spotless and luminous coverage! I'm seriously liking how my face and neck have the same color even in flash photography, just that I'm still not used to seeing my face darker than it is :). After using it for more than a month now, it hasn't broken me out or caused any itchiness on my skin.

Here's a demo video:

I really love this foundation. I've been using it more often than I thought I would. I didn't actually have high hopes for this foundation, but I ended up loving. It may not work as good on others as it did on me because each person's skin works differently. If you're on a tight budget and want to try a mineral foundation, this one is worth the try. You can seldom find a product that as good as this for the price. It's really worth checking out, in my opinion. I believe it retails at P300, but you can wait for it to go on sale for P250 :). I sure will get the Light Ocre next time!

Update:

I wore this today with my Celetech Sun Care Matte Moisturizer, and it worked amazingly. It offered medium coverage which I could barely feel on my skin. It was a little hot today, and it didn't melt at all. I'm really in love with this foundation, and I am certainly getting the Light Ocre this week :D.

Avon Super Extend Extreme Mascara

Happy Sunday everybody! How are you all doing? Today, I have an Avon mascara review for you all, and this is on the Super Extend Extreme Mascara in Black. I loved the Super Extend a lot so when I saw that they have an upgraded (?) version, I wanted to try it too. It's on a yellow packaging which is something new as they were always on black tubes. It contains 7g of product for P299.

I love the yellow packaging!

This is a very black fiber mascara that lengthens the lashes really well. This is buildable if you want more dramatic lashes because the consistency of the product is thin, but may cause clumping if you don't wipe off the excess. The brush is just the right size so the application is even. Coating the lashes from roots to tips is easy since the bristles are short. However, it's a little thick and stiff so be careful not to poke your eyes. The wand is not very long, which allows you to have good control.

The fibers aren't much but really helps!

The mascara doesn't only lengthen, but it also volumizes my lashes, which really makes me happy. My fiance' thought I was wearing falsies when I used this, and that is a very good compliment :). This is not waterproof but it doesn't budge, nor melt. One thing I dislike is smudging eye makeup! This lasts the whole day on me even when it's scorching hot, yet easy it's to remove. I don't always like wearing waterproof mascara as it dries up my lashes and breaks them, so having a non-waterproof mascara that doesn't smear is a great deal for me. It also does a decent job at holding my curl.

Bare Lashes

After applying 3 coats

PROS:

  • Lengthens and volumizes lashes
  • Long staying
  • Consistency is thin easy to work with
  • Doesn't smudge, budge, nor melt
  • Affordable
  • Buildable

CONS
  • Bristles are thick and stiff
  • Can clump the lashes if you're not careful
  • Doesn't separate the lashes perfectly

My verdict: 4 STARS!!! I have only used this mascara for 4 days, and my experience has been good. It's not perfect, yet I'm happy that I can rely on it to keep my eye area neat and clean all throughout the day. Avon mascaras are pretty good for their price from my experience. I have tried a lot over the past few years, and most of them performed well! This is a better version of the Super Extend Mascara so if you like that one, you will like this too. Although I prefer the super extend's brush more.

So that concludes my review of the Avon Super Extend Extreme Mascara. If you have any questions, please let me know.

I love reading comments so leave it down below :). Let's be friends! Like, and follow me if you aren't already. Have a Blessed Sunday everyone!

Avon Moisture Rich Rose Lipstick

Hey guys! Sorry it took me awhile to review this lipstick. I was sick over the weekend and I spent most of the days resting. How are you all doing? I've been pretty excited about this lipstick because I think this is Avon's version of lip butter the way they described it on the brochure. When I hear the word 'butter' being associated with a lip product, I automatically think about the Revlon Lip Butter which I adore so I couldn't let this one pass. The shade I have is in Blushing Bride Rose M13. I've used this for 2 days now and so far I'm liking it. A lot!

The packaging looks the same as the other Avon Color Rich Rose Lipstick except that it has a pink bullet instead of the usual silver (pretty!). I notice that they also now have the brand "Avon" printed on the lipstick like that of L'oreal and I think it looks really cute. I'm pretty excited that this line doesn't come with shimmers and I wish I got another shade :).

love the pink bullet and the print on the lipstick!

Now let's get down to how I find this product. The shade is a pretty pink that's absolutely perfect for weddings because it's not too pink, has enough shine, and no shimmers! It just gives you a fresh and sexy look. I didn't have high hopes for this lipstick because so far Avon have been pretty consistent with their consistency and formulation so I kind of know what to expect already. However, when I swatched it I was really surprised because it was so creamy and goes on like butter indeed! It has a thinner consistency than a lipstick and more moisturizing. I used it for more than 6 hours and it didn't bleed or feather, and it didn't dry my lips either. To me it looks better after it sets on the lips for a few hours. Just looking at the swatches below you'll know that this lipstick is quality because of the pigmentation and texture. The picture says it all!:D.

Avon Moisture Rich Rose Lipstick  in Blushing Bride Rose

Avon Moisture Rich Rose Lipstick  Swatch

I have 2 thin layers on my lips here and yet it looks very opaque. Even if you apply more coats it doesn't feel like you have too much on. There are just 2 things I quite don't like about it. First is the typical lipstick smell which I don't enjoy, and it was a chalky. I was a little uncomfortable on the first few minutes of use but got used to it eventually :).

Now if you're going to ask me how it compares to Revlon Lip Butter, I'll say they are not close but this one is good on it's league! If I haven't tried the lip butter, I would've loved this so much. Below are some swatches to compare both lip products. The one on top is the Avon Rose Lipstick and the one underneath is Revlon Lip Butter.

Avon vs Revlon Lip Butter

Avon on top lip / Revlon Lip Butter on bottom lip

Looking closely on both swatches you can see how the lip butter has a softer, finer, and silkier finish. It minimizes the lines on my lips and it makes it look younger and healthier. It's more moisturizing, has more shine, and has a sweet scent which is really a huge plus!

As for the shade, the Blushing Bride Rose is a shade darker than the Sweet Tart, which I would say that is a nice alternative if you can't get your hands on the lip butter. They're both gorgeous shades and I love them separately!

If you're a fan of Avon lipsticks you will love Rose lipstick more. I have been an Avon lipstick user for awhile now so I can say that this is a must have lip product, and I hope this doesn't get discontinued

My verdict: 4.5STARS!!! I recommend this to all lipstick junkie. This really is a must try :D.

Collective Haul

Hello everyone! How are you all doing? This week is extremely busy and I lost my internet so I haven't had a chance to write a review. I barely have the chance to go online because the issue with my internet is still on going which is really a bummer. So this post is going to be a little short.

I got a few items I'm pretty excited to review and share what I think of these products with you all. The one I am most excited about are the Lioelle BB Creams. I have head so many good reviews about these BB creams and I have to try it myself. I got the 5ml sample tubes on ebay to test it out and see what I think of them. I'm a huge fan of BB creams and I prefer them over foundation, However, one bb cream broke me out so I'm very careful which ones to use. So far Skin79, Skin Food, Etude, Tony Moly, and Danahan works amazing on my skin. All of these I got on sample sizes awhile back and they last a long time because a little goes a long way :). I want to try different varieties and brands so buying them on sample sizes is really practical for me :D.

I'm also thrilled about The Face Shop Nail Polish, the NYC Cheek 2 Cheek which is a bronzer and a highlighter, Maybelline Color Sensational in a new shade, and the new Avon Ultra Moisture Rich Rose Lipstick which I heard is like their version of Lip Butter so I'm really looking forward to trying it. I took separate pictures of the items so you can see them closer :).

Ever Billena Mousse Eyeshadow in Amber

Lioelle Water Drop BB and Beyond The Solution BB Cream

The Face Shop Face It Nail Polish in PK105
The Face Shop Eyelash Adhesive

Natural Lashes from eBay

Avon Super Curlacious Mascara in Black

NYC Cheek 2 Cheek Duo Blusher in Fireside Glow

Etude House Eyeshadow in WH707 / BR302 / BR304

Color Sensational Lipstick in Soft Azalea
Avon Moisture Rich Rose Lipstick in Blushing Bride

I don't wear false lashes and I never have but I think it's never too late for me to learn how. I got a lash adhesive from The Face Shop because the lash glue that came with the lashes were already dried up :D. That's okay because I only got them so cheap so I can't really complain about it. I'll post some swatches soon.

So that's it for today everyone. I hope to post a product review soon. Take care and I'll talk to you later! :D

Review: Avon Extra Lasting Mascara

When I first saw this product on the catalog I knew I had to get this because I'm running out of my Avon Super Extend Mascara  which I really really love! This has 7grams of product and claims to last up to 18hrs! It's water proof, fade proof, smudge proof, and rub proof :D. Plus it provides 7 times volume to your lashes, now who wouldn't want that for a reasonable price, right?!

thin brush and short bristles

The brush is thin which I really like because it's easy to work with. The bristles are short so it coats the lashes from the roots making it appear you have thicker lashes. There's a lot of space in between bristles though so it tends to clumps the lashes. The black shiny packaging with red metallic font is really pretty, and looks similar to the packaging of the Maybelline Long Extreme Stiletto which I plan to try soon as well.

no mascara yet :)

with mascara on both lashes

my lashes have more volume

I love that it's a very long lasting mascara and the brush is easy to work with. It makes my lashes stand out because it's very black, volumizes, holds a curl, and adds drama to the eyes. I was surprised how my lashes looked a lot thicker with only 2 coats. However, it appears rough and a little untidy if you look closer. The product is a little watery but dries up really fast so you have to apply the product carefully and quickly so you can build it up to avoid too much clumping.

What I don't like about it much is it's too difficult to remove. When they said smudge proof, they really meant it because it doesn't want to come off :D! This has an over powering smell which I still can't get over until now and may put off others too. I was also kind of disappointed when I first opened the mascara because there was a whole lot product on the wand that I couldn't put back on the tube anymore, and was very messy and a total waste.

Overall this mascara perform well and is true to what it claims. If you want a very long lasting waterproof mascara that holds a curl, volumizes, adds drama to the lashes, this is one to consider. My verdict: 4 STARS!!!

PROS:

  • Super long lasting
  • Smudge Proof
  • Very black
  • Volumizes
  • Adds drama to the lashes :)

CONS:

  • Can clump lashes
  • Very difficult to remove
  • Has a strong smell

I hope this review helps and if you have any questions, let me know :)

Avon Super Extend Mascara Swatches and Review

Mascara is one of the makeup products that I like using a lot because it makes a difference on my look. My face looks more awake and fresh when I have it on and I tend to love Avon's mascaras. This one I think retails at P420 if I still remember it right. I got it a week ago and I have constantly been using this.

Avon Super Extend Mascara

What I love about this particular mascara is it's wand. It has short bristles which makes it easy for me to coat all my lashes. I don't like huge brushes on mascaras because I tend to poke my eyes when I apply it in a hurry. If you check the photo above, the bristles evenly spaced so the application is easy and does not clump my lashes.

Avon Super Extend Mascara Swatch

Avon Super Extend Mascara Swatch

The photos above show how the mascara makes a difference on my lashes. My left eye has mascara on and you can see how my eye opened up and looked fresh compared to my right eye. It does make it look longer and a little thicker. It doesn't hold a curl though because it's not waterproof so if you are looking for a mascara that can hold a curl, this is not it. That's alright for me though because this isn't a curling mascara after all.

I have thin lashes but doesn't show on my photo above. The mascara really helped brighten my eye and made me look more awake. I love that it's very black and doesn't melt. I have a few Avon mascaras already and I think this is the one I like best. Although I think I can get a better mascara for the price. One thing I don't like much about it is it's a little watery. it would have been amazing if the formula was a little thicker.

PROS:

Doesn't melt/smudge
Great wand
Doesn't clump lashes

CONS:

Price (A little expensive vs the quality)
Watery formulation

Anyway the product works and I give it 4 STARS!!!
