Avon Smooth Minerals Powder Foundation Demo and Review

During summer time, I always use mineral foundation because it's longer lasting and normally sweat proof. I have been wanting to try this Avon Smooth Minerals Powder Foundation for so long and only decided to get it this time. I got it in M107 Beige Ocre, which is a shade lighter but my face is naturally lighter than my neck because it doesn't really "burn" like the rest of my body. I have neutral undertones on my face but generally, have yellow skin. I wanted to try to see how I like a darker shade foundation to match my neck, and it's not bad, just different and very new to me. Anyway, I think this only comes in four shades, and the lightest is Light Ocre. I believe the other shades are Almond and Medium, but I'm not 100% certain. It comes in a twist cap plastic container with a sifter and 6grams of product for only P249. It has SPF15, which is good and a must have especially during summer.

The powder isn't finely milled because you can feel tiny grains when you rub it on your skin, but it doesn't scratch the skin at all. It glides on the skin when you apply it, and it's easy to blend. It's a light coverage foundation but buildable to medium as long as you have a good base for the powder to stick on to, just like any regular mineral foundation. If you use this alone, it will only offer minimal coverage like a pressed powder. It has a good yellow undertone to it so it brightens up the face and neutralizes any redness on the skin. It doesn't cake or crease and can definitely stand the heat and sweat!

Here are some photos that I took using this foundation:

There's no flashback, which is good; however, it contains light reflective minerals that can make the skin look oily in photos. In person, though this foundation makes your skin look luminous, healthy, and glowing. If you have a darker skin tone than I do, you can even use this to highlight the tops of your cheeks, brow bone, inner corner, and bridge of your nose. I use this foundation to set my Ever Bilena Pro Flawless Finish Foundation instead of applying it alone, and the combination is really good. It gives a spotless and luminous coverage! I'm seriously liking how my face and neck have the same color even in flash photography, just that I'm still not used to seeing my face darker than it is :). After using it for more than a month now, it hasn't broken me out or caused any itchiness on my skin.

Here's a demo video:

I really love this foundation. I've been using it more often than I thought I would. I didn't actually have high hopes for this foundation, but I ended up loving. It may not work as good on others as it did on me because each person's skin works differently. If you're on a tight budget and want to try a mineral foundation, this one is worth the try. You can seldom find a product that as good as this for the price. It's really worth checking out, in my opinion. I believe it retails at P300, but you can wait for it to go on sale for P250 :). I sure will get the Light Ocre next time!

Update:

I wore this today with my Celetech Sun Care Matte Moisturizer, and it worked amazingly. It offered medium coverage which I could barely feel on my skin. It was a little hot today, and it didn't melt at all. I'm really in love with this foundation, and I am certainly getting the Light Ocre this week :D.

Elite Mineral Bronzer in Caramel

I like using bronzers a lot for contouring, as shadow, and as blush especially for the summer as it gives a sun kissed glow to the face. Been using this bronzer for awhile now and I have been happy with this product. It comes in a transparent twist cap pot with sifter, and I appreciate that because it allows me to control the product I want to dispense from the container.

This mineral bronzer in caramel is a pretty sparkly glow bronzer that is very pigmented and goes on smoothly on the face. It's easy to blend and build up, and because it's not talc-y it doesn't look muddy on the skin. Just make sure that you blend it nicely and you build up the product little by little for a more natural look. This shade will match light to tan skin tones well. It has a very fine sparkles that goes away the more you blend it on the skin, so this product can be used for contouring and as a shimmer glow on the face and neck at the same time.

If you check out the swatch from the back of my hand, you can see that it blends nicely on my skin and doesn't appear too sparkly at all. If you slowly buff it in the sparkles disappear making it look more natural. And since this is a mineral blush, it lasts a long time and doesn't crease when applied as lid color. The more it sits on the skin, the more it looks natural. I didn't have any problem with breakouts using this bronzer so I'm really happy. All you need is to swirl a small amount on your brush and that's all you need, really. Of course if you want more you can just add it slowly. I didn't remove the sticker on the lid as it keeps the product in the container so I don't worry about it getting messy if I don't store the right side up.

Elite Mineral Bronzer in Caramel as eyeshadow

This is the summer look that I did a week ago using this bronzer and I think it looks fine :). It lasted for a long time without fading nor caking. I just love long staying products I can count on especially during the summer as it makes my routine easy and I don't need to worry about touch ups anymore.

The quality of this bronzer is really good as it's only made from pure and natural ingredients. It doesn't contain paraben or animal by products that can be harmful on the skin, and it's not tested on animals! To learn more about this bronzer and other products from Elite Mineral, please visit their website at:  http://www.mineralmakeupme.com.

My verdict: 5 STARS!!! I been using 4 Elite Mineral for almost 2 weeks now, and they continue to impress me. If you want to check out my reviews of their eyeshadow primer and foundation, kindly click on the link.

Elite Mineral Foundation in Natural Review

When I first received this Mineral Foundation from Elite Mineral I was really excited because upon looking at the product from the packaging you can tell that it's finely milled and you can see the mineral sparkles or the light diffusing ingredients that is going to provide a luminous effect on the skin. The shade I have is in Natural which according to them is one of the most loved foundation in the lighter shade. This shade matches those who have light to medium skin tones. This is made only with quality ingredients, not tested on animals, does not contain animal ingredients, and it's paraben free!

I love the packaging that comes in a transparent twist cap container with sifter and a protective sticker. It's sturdy enough for me and closes very well. It shows the shade and the product info on the sticker right in front of the container. I like that the sifter doesn't have a big hole because it dispenses just the right amount of product when you tap it in. I want to be able to have control on the foundation that I dish out of the pot. I also didn't remove the sticker so to avoid possible waste when storing.

You can see on the swatch that it matches my skin tone very well. From the packaging it looks too yellow but the moment you buff it onto your skin, it blends really well. You can see the glow that it gives my skin and I love that! I'm into glowy, dewy, luminous, and healthy look so this is really perfect to my liking. The powder is fine but not very soft if you smooth it on your skin using your fingers because it's not talc-y like the other brands I have tried. Buffing it on to the skin is very easy because it glides on the skin really well. The more you buff it in the better it looks on your skin.

It offers light to medium coverage but you can build it up slowly if you want a higher coverage. You have to use a good base like a moisturizer or a primer to push the foundation nicely onto your skin. However, remember to add a thin layer each time to avoid any caking. A small amount of product goes a long way so this should last you a minimum of 5 months. Here's a summer look I did yesterday:

after 5 hours

I certainly love the dewy and silky effect on my skin because it's youthful and refreshing. It diminishes my fine lines and pores nicely. After 5 hours I still look pretty much the same and it's a great deal because I have oily skin so you should already see oxidation by this time but there's none. The oil control is in fact great because it was awfully hot yesterday and I didn't need to blot whatsoever. Of course my skin produced natural oil but there's no greasy or nasty oil on my face :D. It doesn't have any scent to it which is great as perfumes can cause irritation. I didn't breakout using this foundation for more than a week and that's the reason why I love it more.

This foundation costs $19.99 with a weight of 0.3 oz/ 9-10 g and volume of 30 g. You can find this foundation and other Elite Mineral Makeup Products at http://www.mineralmakeupme.com.

My verdict: 5 STARS!!! I definitely love this mineral foundation. My Revlon, Maybelline, and Avon mineral foundations are not even close. This is certainly worth its cost and a must try mineral foundation.

If you have any questions, please post them down below :). Thanks!

Elite Mineral Eye Shadow Primer Review

Hello everyone! I have a mineral makeup review for you all and this is on Elite Mineral Eye Shadow Primer. This was sent to me by Elite Mineral last week for review and I have been trying it out every single day. I have to say that I have never been happier with an eye primer before. Been psyched about this product because I've been looking for a good primer and sticky base to use on my eye makeup routine. I have oily skin so my lids tend to get oily as well and really like my eye makeup to stay put and not crease. I love my ELF Primer as it works great considering the price but I can't use it as a sticky base and I have to apply another cream product for that.

Elite Mineral Eye Shadow Primer is not just as primer but it's also a sticky base. It's in skin tone so it also serves as a concealer to even out the skin tone on the eye area and you can use this on all shades and kinds of shadow. It's paraben free, made with all natural ingredients, not tested on animals, and doesn't contain any animal ingredient so this is perfect for everyone.

This eye primer has a very thick and creamy consistency. The moment you apply this you can feel that it absorbs the oil and makeup product on your lids but keeps the surface sticky. You only need to dab your finger or brush very lightly on the product and it's all you need to keep your eye makeup in place. It also helps for the shadow to adhere and show up better. The swatches below shows the difference of the shadow with and without the primer. I'm using my ELF warm palette which has 6 very pigmented shadows. As you can see the shadow shows up nicely on my skin but appears bolder and more intense with the primer underneath.

shadow without primer vs with primer

after 7hrs

I have been using this ELF warm palette a few times and I can't make the color appear this way alone. As you can see the color pay off is really amazing. I didn't apply too much product on the lash line but it helped the shadow to pick up more and brighten my eye area. I also applied the primer close to the lash line but I didn't feel any stinging nor irritation.

after 7hrs

After 7hrs this is how my eye makeup looks like! There's fading on the inner third of my lids but very very lightly, which is remarkable considering that I have oily lids. It is still in place, didn't melt, nor crease. My mascara didn't smudge either which should already happen by now. I still have my makeup on now and it looks pretty much the same :). If you're a person who wants your eye makeup to last for more than 8 hours, this is a good product to consider! Not only this is a quality primer but it's also made from natural ingredients.

I've been using this eye primer for a week now and it's been wonderful. I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes one of Elite Mineral's most popular products. It weighs 3.3 grams or 0.34fl .oz and priced at $28.99. It maybe a little pricey but this will last you a long time as very little goes a long way. It's really worth every penny. You can check this eye primer and some of their products at:  http://www.mineralmakeupme.com. Elite Mineral ships to the US and International shipping may also be arranged. All you need to do is contact them for the shipping cost to deliver to your country. And should you have any problems with the product, you may return them within 7 days and get a full refund.

My verdict: 5 STARS!!!  Needless to say, this is a must try eye primer.

Elite Mineral Makeup in Action

I was supposed to do this post yesterday but I just can't help myself after trying the foundation first. I loved it so much that I had to take photos. Here are the products that I got from Elite Mineral. The one on the top left is the mineral eye primer which is a sticky base makeup which I think is so perfect! You don't need to use a primer and a sticky base for your eyeshadow because this product has it all! The product next to the primer is the mineral foundation and I got one in Natural. Third one on the lower left is the eyeshadow which doubles as a blush in Candy Girl Shade. Then the last product on the lower right is the bronzer/blush in Caramel.

I won't be too in depth for now on these products and will save it all on my review. For now I just want to show you Elite Mineral in action. I used all the products and created a simple day look. I wasn't actually planning on doing anything special because I was only testing it out on myself so this look is very simple. I have Revlon's brow pencil on my brows, Cover Girl Lash Blast Volume in my lashes, and Revlon Lip Butter in Sweet Tart on my lips.

I didn't have to use any concealer on this look because the foundation took care of it. I love how it made the look so natural and glowy with just very little amount. As long as I don't break out this product I must say is a must have! Very fine, easy to blend, unscented, and buildable. It blended with my skin really well and so far no itching nor stinging. After 5 hours I still don't see a need to blot my face :D which is GOOD!

I'll doing an in depth review on each of these products so stay tuned :).

Mineral Foundation: Elite Mineral Makeup

I'm pretty excited about this mineral makeup brand and I will be reviewing their products soon, but before doing so I'd like to introduce them to you first.

Elite Mineral Makeup is a mineral makeup brand from the US which uses high quality ingredients on their makeup. It doesn't contain animal product and it's not tested on animals either, isn't that great?! I know most of us are quite particular about animal testing and I personally prefer to buy from companies that don't. Sometimes it's really unavoidable especially if the brand and the product is really good but you just gotta love these companies who prefer not to sacrifice animals for product testing. Their products are a lot more durable and useful then regular cosmetic products as well as it has multiple functions.

The company's goal is to provide all natural, preservative free, and 'one product for all skin types' to everyone. Elite Mineral Makeup commits to NOT use low quality ingredients on their products. They are modestly priced so you're assured of getting your money's worth.

I have tried a few brands of mineral makeup and I don't always find the right shade for me because the color selection is very limited from 3 - 5 shades so most of the time I end up just making it work to not put it to waste. I know many of you share this same sentiment. However, Elite Mineral has a wide range of 15 different shades for all skin tones so you're sure to find the right one for you. Below are some of the shades available:

Elite Mineral Foundation in Natural

Natural is one of the most loved foundations in lighter shades! It is the right color for those who have light to light medium skin tones

Elite Mineral Foundation in Light Beige

Darker than Natural, Light Beige is a shade that goes best on those with yellow pigments on their skin.

Elite Mineral Foundation in Fairly Light

Fairly light is the perfect shade for you if you have very fair skin with warm undertones.

Elite Mineral Foundation in Honey Beige

Honey Beige is one of the most popular medium foundations of Elite Mineral.  This is perfect for those who have medium skin with cool undertones

Elite Mineral Foundation in Honey

A shade lighter that Sun Kissed, Honey goes best for those with slight pink hues on their skin.

Elite Mineral Foundation in Medium Beige

Medium Beige is for those with medium skin tone with warm undertones. This is lighter than Honey Beige and darker than Natural.

Elite Mineral Foundation in Medium Tan

Medium Tan is Darker than Sun Tan foundation but lighter than Toast. It works wonders for those with medium tan skin with warm undertones.

Elite Mineral Foundation in Deep

Deep is a foundation with subtle hints of red. This goes well on medium dark skin tones.

Elite Mineral Foundation in Chocolate

Chocolate is a medium dark brown foundation that goes well if you have hints of red and gold in your skin tone.

Each foundation comes in durable transparent twist cap pot with a rubber sifter. You can use the cap to tap the foundation in for every use. Each content has:

Weight: 0.3 oz/ 9-10 g.
Volume: 30 g.
Price: $19.99

You can check the other foundation shades at http://www.mineralmakeupme.com. When you click on each product it will show you some info and below it they have suggested kits for shades of concealer, mineral veil, blushes, and bronzers that matches with every foundation shade so it's very helpful if you're unsure which shade will work best with each other.

They also have good quality concealers, finishing powder, bronzers, blushes, eyeshadow, primers, and lip products available so do check it out!

Avon Smooth Minerals Blush Swatches and Review

Avon Smooth Minerals Blush

Avon Smooth Minerals Blush in Blushed M02

Hello everyone! Here I am again with another Avon product review. The product I am reviewing right now is the Avon Smooth Minerals Blush in Blushed M02. I forgot how much I payed for this because I have had this for awhile now but only used it today. It comes with 3.5 grams of product in a plastic packaging, and a sponge applicator but I don't use it because I don't think I can achieve a natural blush using the sponge.

Avon Smooth Minerals Blush in Blush M02 Swatch

The shade is a really pretty pink blush with some some shimmers on it that can be used alone or as a contour color. I love how the color is very natural and looks great when applied on the skin. Since it is a mineral blush, the powder is expected to be unscented, very fine, and pigmented. It is blendable, buildable, and very easy to apply. Check out some of the photos I have taken tonight showing the blush on my cheeks. You'll see that it blends really well on my skin and looks very natural. I build it up a little more as a contour and then applied a thinner shade on my cheeks and around my face. It made me look fresh and natural without putting too much makeup on. I just used pressed powder, mascara, lipstick, and this blush and yet I don't look like I just jumped out of bed. As for the staying power, I'm really impressed. I took this photo right after I came home from an errand and the blush color still looks the same.

This product is just great and I couldn't believe I just used it after having it for quite awhile. At first I didn't like the shade because the powder looks dark but it's very pretty when applied. This blush should work great as a contour together with the ELF Studio Blush in Tickled Pink because they are almost similar except that this one is a little darker and has shimmers on it. I find myself loving a few Avon products now. It's affordable and easily available for everyone. On this photo I also used the Avon Smooth Minerals Mascara that I just reviewed :). Hope you all like this short review and if you have questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
