BYS Lipstick Champagne Rain L22

Doesn't this lipstick look gorgeous? When I first saw this, I fell in love right away because the color is just perfect for those dramatic smokey eye looks. It's a color that I don't have yet so it's a really great addition to my makeup collection. It's a light pink lipstick that I can see working for every skin tone and any age. I got this from my sister when she came home from Australia. For those who don't know BYS yet, it's an Australian brand that recently hit the Philippine market. I don't exactly know when it became locally available, but I'm pretty sure they had in Manila months ago before it reached here. I believe this retails at P299.00, and you can find it at SM Department Stores.

The packaging is not ideal because the product doesn't go all the way down the bullet, so there's a chance of messing it up or even breaking it when you put the cap back. It doesn't snap when you close it, so I'm always careful when I put this inside my bag. I like the transparent cover though because it allows you to see the shade without opening.

Here are some of the swatches for your reference taken with and without flash.

This silky-smooth pearl lipstick is quite opaque. I didn't have to conceal my rather pigmented lips just for the color to show up better. The color is very true to what's in the bullet, so I like that. It's unscented, and tasteless, which is good, but it's a little waxy so you have to apply a lip liner to prevent it from bleeding. I did apply foundation on my lip line, so I didn't experience any bleeding, and this kept the lipstick in place. Since the color is very pale, it makes dry lips look more noticeable, so I apply lip balm underneath, although the lipstick is moisturizing and doesn't dry out my lips. The pigment also sinks into the fine lines of the lips so the lip balm helps to prevent that.

After 3-4 hours

The color starts to fade after 3 hours and forms a white line on the insides of the lips which is so unflattering.  It emphasized my dry lips as well, so I reapply sooner than what I'm used to. I honestly don't feel very confident when I wear this lipstick because all I could think of is if my lips already appear dry, or if there's a white line on my lips, so I haven't worn this much yet.

Here's a photo to me wearing this lipstick for daytime. I'm using BYS eyeliner and concealer which I will be reviewing soon as well. I like how it makes the look subtle, even if I have a strong eyeliner. It also matches my blush, which makes the look quite romantic. It doesn't wash me out either.

Overall, this lipstick is so so. While I like the color very much, and I can make this work well with a lip gloss, there are surely better ones out there. It's quite pricey for what it's worth if you ask me. Although if you buy it from Australia, it's not too bad. Maybe the other shades are better; I don't really know. This is the only one I have from this line, (I have the long wearing one), so I can't generally say that it's not worth trying it out. If you have tried this lipstick, let me know what you think of it.

Review: BYS Longwear Lipstick in Blushed

BYS is an Australian brand which stands for BeYourSelf. It's said to be the number 1 budget makeup in Australia. This lipstick has 3.5 grams of product on a black twist tube packaging with a transparent cap. I got this as present from my sister and I have quite a few more BYS products to review soon to those interested. If you want to learn more about this product, you can check out their website.

I love this lipstick because it's very moisturizing and pigmented. You can build it up if you want a more intense color. It has a satin finish which glides on smoothly on every application. The shade is really pretty and a lovely color to wear for a polished look even if you have very little makeup. The flash on my camera washed the color of this lipstick but the shade is berry-ish in person :D. This feels light on the lips and doesn't have an unpleasant taste or smell which is actually good. I really like this lipstick and I will continue using it. Although it isn't as long wearing as it claims to be but that's alright.

PROS:
Pretty shade
Glides on easily
Pigmented
Buildable
Tasteless and odorless

CONS:
Twist tube is a little loose
Not available locally

My verdict: 4 STARS
Would I recommend? Yes

Overall this lipstick performed more than what I expected. I would repurchase if available locally.

Lipstick Review: Lancome Color Design All Done Up

I am so in love with this lipstick ever since I got it! I have had this for months now but only used it a month ago when I was out of town. I honestly didn't want to use it because it's just so pretty and only wanted to keep it LOL. I bought this from a friend who was kind enough to sell it to me for a friendly price (Thanks Zsa Zsa!) :D so I'm not sure how much this costs in the market now.

The shade is a mixture of fuchsia, berry, and mauve which I believe is a perfect shade for any skin tone. It's a cream lipstick that glides on and easy to apply. Pigmentation and opacity is just amazing. You can just dab it on your lips and the color will pick up. It has a medium coverage which you build up for a full coverage without looking like you layered a lot! The staying power is really good because I don't need to retouch after 8 hours.

I swatched this once when I took the photo and look at how rich the color is. It's very creamy and doesn't look dry. You can wear this alone or with a gloss on top of it. I love how comfortable it feels on the lips because it's totally weightless. What's perfect about it is that it doesn't have any scent and it's tasteless so you'll hardly notice that you have it on.

This lipstick brightens my face no matter how simple my makeup looks. I love wearing because the shade doesn't scream pink but makes you look so feminine. This is my most favorite lipstick (for now). It's a 5 STAR quality lipstick which every girl should have!

L'oreal Colour Riche Lipstick 427 Summer Coral Swatches and Review

Hello all! Here's another lipstick review from L'oreal Colour Riche Lipstick 427 Summer Coral. When I got this from my Aunt as a present, I was so thrilled because I love L'oreal and the color is so pretty. I am currently into corals and orange lip colors so I'm really excited about it. I'm not sure how much this costs in the market right now but I think it's between P500 and P600 with 3.6 grams of product. You can get this from any L'oreal stalls on any department stores nationwide.

L'oreal Colour Riche Lipstick Summer Coral 427

The formula of the lipstick prevents smudging to bring vibrant color. It's enriched with Vitamin E and Omega 3 oils to moisturize the lips and keep it looking fresh and smooth. As for the packaging, it's the same as the other colour riche lipsticks - gold plastic tube which for me is very neat and pretty and I like it!. I also love the signature clean smell of L'oreal lipsticks because it makes the application even more enjoyable. As for the pigmentation, it's really good. I only need to swatch it once for the color to pay off. It stays on for long and the fact that it doesn't smudge is a great deal for me.

I took 2 photos so you see what it looks like on different lighting condition. It's a pearl lipstick so you'll notice some shine. The shade is really pretty and will look best on fair skin but should suit any skin tone just fine.

This is the second colour riche lipstick I have and I love both of them. I've never complained or had any issues with L'oreal products at all from hair care, skin care, to cosmetics. Would I purchase this myself? Definitely yes! My verdict: 5 STARS.

Should you have any questions, just shoot me an email via the contact me page or just leave a comment! I hope this review was helpful to you. Until my next product review. Take care everyone!

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Coral Sunrise

I have another review for you all on Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Coral Sunrise. I've had this for awhile now but used it last because I really liked the pigmentation of this lipstick when I swatched it from the store and I saved it for last! I like that the orange shades has orange packaging same with reds, pinks, and neutrals. I think it's a great way to know which shades you want to look for without checking out the bottom of the lipstick.

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Coral Sunrise

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Coral Sunrise Swatch

I have used a few Maybelline lipsticks but this line is really amazing and what I like more because it's not too glossy, not too creamy, and there are so many other colors to choose from. I have the moisture extreme lipstick but that one is a little creamy for me. I'm in love with the pigmentation and the new shades and its consistency. This one has a few shimmers and although I am not really a huge fan of shimmer lipsticks, I just like this one because they don't up much. It's also very moisturizing and glides on the lips really well. If you check out the photo above it looks glossy and I used this alone. The application is even and you can build it up if you want a more dramatic coral lip. I definitely give this lipstick 5 STARS!!!

I posted a photo of me wearing this lipstick on my ELF Essential Duo Powder Eye Shadow in Mocha Swirl review for anyone who wants to check it out. I hope you like this review and please do shoot me a question or two if you have any.

Have a happy weekend and happy fathers day to my dad and all the dads in the world too! :D

ELF Essential Cherry Tart Liquid Lipstick

ELF Essential Liquid Lipstick Cherry Tart

I have another makeup review for you and this on the ELF Essential Liquid Lipstick in Cherry Tart. I have had this since December but only had the chance to open it :). Just like the other Essential products from ELF they only retail at P129.75 or $1 from eyeslipsface.com with 1.5 grams of products.

Elf Essential Liquid Lipstick in Cherry Tart Swatch

What can I say, I love ELF! There's no reason not to love them because they are quality products and very affordable. This particular color is amazing because it gives a very fresh look. It's a sheer liquid lipstick, very moisturizing, gives a glossy finish, and true to its color. It has a sponge tip and a twist bottom that releases the product. I like the packaging because it's very clean looking and not messy because you only get the product if you twist if from the bottom so it won't spill at all. It's also long lasting which was a surprise because I was expecting it to rub off easily as it's a liquid lipstick. The application is even and it's very easy to use. One great thing I like about it is the cooling effect it gives on the lips like a mentholatum lip balm. With only a few application, I can feel that my lips are a little softer. Not only that, it has a pleasant taste and smell too!

PROS:

Moisturizing
Even application
True to the color
Glossy finish
Long lasting
Nice packaging
Very affordable

CONS:

I seriously can't think of one :)

There are good variety of colors to choose from and I will surely get another one soon. This product deserves 5 STARS!!!

ELF Essential Lipstick in Seductive Swatches and Review

I loved the Classy lipstick so I decided to get another in Seductive. I think this shade is more suitable for my skin tone and I just LOVE IT! This is going on my favorite day lipstick list. It retails at P129.75 or $1 from their website eyeslipsface.com.

Here are some photos of me wearing the lipstick. The one right below is taken when I got home in the evening and the one at the bottom was taken the day after. On natural light, it looks very natural and that's what I love about it most. It's also very moisturizing like the Classy, creamy, and long staying. I couldn't believe the quality of this lip color because it's just very reasonable. I can't name anything I don't like about this product. It's just great!

I give this lipstick another 5 STARS! It's very easy to apply and the color is so wearable for everyday use. There are only 3 shades available now and I hope they have more natural, nude, or orange shade. I saw on their website that they have a new color in Nostalgic and I like another one in Fantasy but I don't see that available locally yet. I'll be looking forward to more shades.

Kindly check out my swatches and review of the classy shade too if you like Elf lipsticks. Hope you like this post and good night/good day to everyone! Take care!

ELF Essential Lipstick Swatches and Review

ELF Essential Lipstick in Classy

I found a time to take some pictures of this lipstick I have been wanting to review for awhile now. I got this a week or two ago and only used it today for the purpose of the review. When I first saw this lipstick I knew I just had to buy it because ELF is a quality cosmetic brand at a very reasonable price. Since this is under the Elf Essential line, it retails at P129.75.

ELF Essential Lipstick in Classy

I love the packaging a lot in a silver grey plastic twist tube and I appreciate that you can see what shade it is without opening the tube. This lipstick also has a pleasant grape/berry scent which I really enjoy. I'm sure nobody wants to use a lipstick with an unpleasant scent. I really love how creamy this matte lipstick is. It glides on the lips very well and is non-drying. The shade is also very pretty. I can use this on a daily basis and I can also pair this with a smokey eye for an evening gathering. Are you a fan of MAC Lipsticks? This particular shade is a dupe of MAC's Angel so this is a very cheap alternative for those on a budget. If you want to see a shade comparison, check out this video by Emily Noel. The color looks very similar and you can't almost tell which one is which. I'm sure many are excited to hear about this too!

Below are some swatches:

ELF Essential Lipstick in Classy

I used this lip color today with a Smokey Eye, ELF Studio Blush in Tickled Pink on my cheeks, and NYC Bronzer in Sunny for contour. The staying power of this lipstick is also quite good. I hardly needed to retouch today which is really great. I just have a few words for this lipstick, great quality at a very affordable price. This lip product deserves 5 STARS!!!

If you've used this lipstick let me know your thoughts. Thanks for reading guys, I really appreciate it, and I hope you check out my other posts too.
