Fanny Serrano Two-Way Cake

I have been wanting to post my review on the Fanny Serrano Two-Way Cake, but I've been so busy with work. Finally, here it is! I read so many rave reviews on beauty blogs, so I decided to try this too. They said this is a dupe for Mac Studio Fix Powder Foundation! I was curious as to why it's being compared to MAC, so I can't let it pass. I have to try it myself and see how good it is. This is a refill, which is P100 cheaper than the compact, and contains 13g of product. I don't carry this in my bag so there really is no point in getting the compact. I get to save a decent amount of money!

The shade I got is in Duchess. The lady chose it for me, and she couldn't be more right! I love that there are quite a few colors to choose from so you can find the best shade for you. The other shades are Satin, Silk, Organza, Fantasia, Chino, and Rajah. It contains Vitamin E, SPF, and the oil-control. Below are some swatches for you to see how well it looks! It's the exact and perfect match to my skin tone and looks natural. I love how it gives my skin a healthy glow. What's so special about this powder is it's made to suit the Filipina skin and stand the heat and humidity!

I haven't used this alone and wet yet because I just prefer to use it as a setting powder instead to add more coverage to my bb cream and sheer foundation. I bought this in December for my cousin's wedding because I heard that the staying power is really good, and I've been using it everyday since I got it. You can see my photo taken from the wedding when I used the Fanny Serrano Two-Way Cake as a setting powder

What I like about it:
  • Oil control is incredible. Stays on well up to 8 hours!
  • It didn't break me out
  • Good coverage
  • Perfect match for my skin tone
  • Gives the skin a healthy glow
  • Very affordable
  • Great quality!
  • Powder is fine, silky, and easy to blend.
  • It doesn't melt
  • Perfect for those with oily skin

What I don't quite like:
  • Can cake if you apply a little too much
  • It has a scent which can irritate the skin. It doesn't bother me, but I wish it's unscented.
  • There's a little flashback.
  • A little powdery

The photo above was taken after 8hrs and right after I got home. No editing done and I didn't blot my face, nor retouch it. There's a little flashback though which I'm not very happy with. Although I must say that the liquid foundation I used in this picture also does, that so I don't really blame it on the powder. It looks good in person though, so I still like it. I haven't tried MAC yet so I can't really tell if it is what they say it is... a good dupe. However, I can say that this is one of the best powders I have tried, and I like it. I've been using it for 3 months now and there's still more to go!

My verdict: 4.5 STARS!!! If you're on a hunt for a good powder, this one is worth the try. Get the refill instead and you save P100. There's nothing really special about the compact so save your money or buy something else :). Unless of course you plan on carrying this in your purse, which isn't really necessary because this stays on a long time!

  1. My favorite powder foundation ever! According to my cousin and her fellow Cathay Pacific FAs, it's way better than MAC! :)

  6. You can get this from any Department Stores Teri. SM and Robinson's has them. It's still one of my favorite powders. It's really good for the price. If you want to save, just get the refill instead ;)
