FOTD: Berry Lips

Hello everyone! I just want to share with you all another FOTD which I wore when I was out on Sunday. I couldn't it put up then because I had so much to do, so I'm posting it now. It's berry lip with flushed cheeks and neutral shadows. I'm using my current favorite products on this look, and I love how they all work together. This is, by the way, a good makeup for the fall. We don't have fall here in the Philippines, only rainy and hot seasons, but if we do this is positively what I would wear as bright, berry, and red lips are definitely in this fall 2012.

I'm wearing very minimal products on this look, which is a wearable daytime makeup. Here's what I have on:

Face
Maybelline Pure Liquid Mineral Foundation in BO1
Palladio Rice Powder in Natural
Nyx Powder Blush in Angel

Eyes
Nyx Eyeshadow Trio - In The Woods
ELF Studio Eyebrow Kit in Light
Avon Extra Lasting Mascara in Black (Waterproof)

Lips
Maybelline Lip Smooth Color Changing Lip Balm in Peach Blossom
Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Smitten

I like wearing colored lipsticks a lot and the Revlon Balm Stain in Smitten so far is my best-loved berry lip color. The shade is just so pretty, and it's very long lasting. This look is easy to do, low in maintenance, and hot weather appropriate because the Maybelline Liquid Foundation stays put really good, the mascara is smudge proof, and the balm stain doesn't go away. I didn't actually retouch anything, except for the lip color after I ate :D.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain

I finally have my hands on the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain! The moment I saw these balm stains on blogs and youtube; I have been crazy in love because this is how I love my lip product - light-weight, gives a long staying tint, and moisturizing. It took a while to reach the Philippine market, but I got it the moment I saw this on the Revlon counter. I wanted to add it to my August favorites, but I thought of saving this for September as I haven't used this as often yet.

The shade I have is in Smitten 030, which is a deep berry which I really love because it's very flattering on fair skin. I believe this will match all skin tones just fine as long as you're into berry lip colors. It appears dark berry on the stick, and I was a little hesitant to get this first, but the moment I swatched it; I just fell in love with the color. It has a slight minty scent and tingle that I actually love. It goes on smoothly, very easy to apply, and is very much buildable if you want a more intense shade. You can apply as much as you want to add more color but the balm doesn't build up, which is just amazing.

It's very pigmented, balmy, and provides a good amount of moisture to the lips without looking too glossy or greasy. The staying power is amazing as it lasts all day. After the balm wears off it leaves this natural stain on the lips that don't transfer and look like you just ate a cherry popsicle. It works like a balm so it's not very opaque but the color pay off of this product is unbelievable. No more dry lips while using this lip product. The only time I needed to reapply this was after eating just to add more gloss to my lips, but the color stays on really good.

Has anyone of you seen the Once Upon A Time TV show? Ginnifer Goodwin plays as Snow White and I love her flushed winter look a lot. She has these berry lips, blushing cheeks, and natural eyes! When it's raining and gloomy, this is the look that I wear to add color to my face, and I love how it appears that I am cold :D. The NYX Powder Blush in Silky Rose is a great blush to match with this balm stain if you're going for a Snow White look :D.

My verdict: 5 STARS!!! This is my new favorite lip product and I doubt I will ever get tired using this. It's worth every cent and a must have on every makeup collection!

My Current Everyday Makeup

I don't normally go with just one everyday makeup for long because I get bored easily and currently this is the look that I am loving. It's a little dewy because of the mineral makeup and bb cream working together, but at the same time it's long lasting because I wear face primer underneath. It's still summer, but it's currently been raining almost everyday so it's dark outside that's why I think this look is just perfect, long staying yet makes the face appear fresh and naturally flushed. The reason I choose to wear mineral makeup during summer or rainy is because it doesn't melt nor wears off easily but blends nicely on the skin because it's waterproof so your makeup lasts a long time.

I love wearing berry, red, or bolder lip shade when it's gloomy because it adds color to the face but no one really notices it. Of course with a bolder lip color I fill in my brows with a darker shade and tons of mascara than usual as I find that a more pronounced brows, and lashes complement the bold lips and make the eyes stand out. I used a caramel colored shadow to give the eyes some glow with an eyeshadow primer underneath to make it longer lasting. I applied concealer to cover my dark circles and counteract any redness as berry lips can make them stick out. On my face, I used a bronzer to give it some definition and on my cheeks, I applied mineral blush to give it  a natural flush.

It seems like I used too many products to create this look when really it's only a little of each item to keep the makeup long staying, and it's truly worth it because I didn't have to retouch anything except for the lipstick after I ate.
