ELF Studio Powder Brush Review

I have quite a few makeup brushes from ELF and all of them are really good. This brush is from their Studio Brushes line which is $3 on their website or P249.75 locally. It comes with a brush guard to protect shape of the brush. It's a synthetic haired  talkon brush which is very soft, absorbent, and claims to be anti-bacterial (nice!).

This used to be called the flat top brush, I don't know why they changed the name :). The brush is really good in buffing out wet and dry products onto the skin. It has short and dense bristles so you have full control of the application. I use this to apply my mineral foundation, setting my makeup, and for contouring and I like how it smooths out my skin. I have tried it with liquid foundation and it works really good because the brush is so soft, and blends the product evenly. Creating a sculpted look with this brush is effortless because the brush is just easy to work with. I've washed it 4 times already and there was no shedding or bleeding. For the price, you get a good quality brush that will make your makeup routine painless :).

I highly recommend this brush and I will surely purchase other studio makeup brushes from ELF. My verdict is 5 STARS!!!

Marionnaud Premium N6 Eyeshadow Brush Review

I have 3 other 5 other Marionnaud makeup brushes made of synthetic fibers. I like them all because they very smooth and inexpensive especially their powder and angled blush brush. The premium brushes however are made of natural goat hair so it's a little more pricey. I got this brush from Watsons for P99.75.

N6 Eyeshadow Brush

What I really love about this brush is it's dense and sturdy. I like it better than the ELF Essential eyeshadow brush. I have used this for quite awhile now and there's no shedding. It has a thinner and longer handle which I like because it allows me to apply the shadow lightly. The wand is non-slip which I like a lot so you have good control of during the application. It does a good job in blending shadows so there are no harsh edges and it's also great for contouring. And since it is a thicker brush, packing on colors is easy.

I really like the premium brush and I will definitely repurchase. It's a good brush to have on any makeup kit. I highly recommend this brush to everyone :). My verdict is no doubt 5 STARS!

Budget Brush: Berkeley Liner Brush

I was looking for a good and affordable eyeliner brush last week and I was not lucky enough to find one. Then my fiance' suggested that I use a liner brush that he uses for oil painting. I thought that's not a bad idea so I bought one to try it! I got this brush from National Bookstore for only P25 so it's not a big loss if it doesn't work out well.

Berkeley Liner Brush 000

As you can see on the photos, the fibers are very fine and soft. I was impressed of how easy it was to use. It creates a very thin line which was such a surprise! For the very affordable price, I already have a nice liner brush I can use with my gel liner. I never expected to find a good makeup brush at National Bookstore :D.

creates a very thin line

looks like i only tight lined my eyes...

I couldn't create a line as thin as this using my angled brush at all. Making a thicker line is also easy because it just glides on easily and only picks up enough product on the brush. Now creating a very thin line that's very close to the lash line is as simple as using an angled brush.

Overall this liner brush works amazing and I am really happy with it. This is a very affordable brush compared to cosmetic liner brushes but does the job well. It's easy to find because you can get it from your art stores and you can get as many as you want in different sizes depending on the thickness of the line you want to create.

This brush deserves 5 STARS. I recommend everyone to try it if you're looking for a cheap liner brush.

Elf Studio Stipple Brush Review

I have always wanted to get this brush because I have heard so many great reviews about this makeup brush. Most of the youtube gurus are using stippling brush to apply liquid foundation, bronzer, or highlighter and it's said to create an airbrush effect, now how can I let this product pass? Applying foundation takes most of my time because I always want to make sure that it's well blended and it looks very natural so owning a good brush to help me achieve a flawless look is a must. This is a talkon brush that creates a flawless and airbrushed look. It's said to be perfect for adding definition to cheekbones or highlighting with soft layers. I bought this brush for P249.75 at SM Department Store.

I love that when I washed it the moment I took it out of the package it didn't bleed, which happens to other brushes I have tried. There wasn't any shedding as well so it's extra plus points :). The handle has the right length and easy to hold for an effortless application. It has fewer hairs though and flimsy so when applying the foundation in stippling motion, it feels like you have lesser control. Yes it blends the foundation nicely compared to using a sponge but you have to put more effort, especially when blending around the nose. This is the first stippling brush I have tried but I know it needs it to be fuller to have more control over blending the foundation. I used the same brush to apply my bronzer and blush and it works great! It takes the right amount of product and blends it really well because the application is very light handed. As you can see on the photo, it does look like the blending of the product was smooth and there are no harsh edges.

I love using this to apply my bronzer and blush especially when they are very pigmented and tricky to work with. For the use on foundation, it did help me to create a clean, well blended, and flawless look but it just takes a lot more work than I have hoped for. However, for the effect that it gives me, I am patient enough to work with it. I'm happy with all the good points it gives versus the poor ones. Elf has plenty of good quality and affordable makeup brushes and they are indeed a brand to watch out for.

My verdict: 4 STARS! I definitely recommend this to makeup junkies who want to own and affordable but quality stippling brush. Once you get the hang of it, you'll surely love it. It's best for blush, highlight, and bronzer application. I have purchased the flat top brush and will use it for awhile and then make a review of it.

Fanny Serrano Eyeliner Brush

I got this brush a few days ago for P150 when I purchased my gel liner. I thought it was a really nice brush because the bristles are soft and firm, making it easy for me to have better control of the gel liner. The brush has just the right size that's perfect for the application. It claims that they use the finest, natural hair but the fiber of this brush is not a natural hair unlike their other brushes. Although it's very soft and not rough on the skin which is really important for me. It has a slim and long plastic handle.

I like that this brush allows me to draw a thin and even line. I'm new to gel liners (before I just use an eyeliner pen or a liquid pen liner because it's easier to work with) but this brush helped to apply the gel liner effortlessly.

I like this brush and I think it's worth the cost :D. My verdict: 4 STARS!

Review: ELF Studio Complexion Brush

I really love this brush because it's dense, very soft, and not scratchy on the face. I use this to apply loose powders and it helps to achieve a seamless and flawless effect. I also apply my bronzers and blushes using this brush for a subtle glow because it glides on the face very smoothly. This brush packs on just the right amount of product you need for an even application. Plus it's antibacterial and vegan friendly.

For the price it's really good. If you have tried Marionnaud brushes, this is way better and a lot softer because that one bleeds even after the third wash. Although there's a price difference, still this is worth the extra spending. The bristles doesn't shed, it's easy to clean, and doesn't bleed. It's definitely a cost efficient alternative to expensive brushes and does the job well. I couldn't ask for more :D.

My verdict: 5 STARS!
